Fifth Professional Development Workshop: Professors of the Consortium of Universities Advancing NPM Education in the Kyrgyz Republic
On June 3-4, 2015, 23 dedicated professors representing 11 universities - members of the Consortium of Universities on NPM in the Kyrgyz Republic actively participated in the 5th Professional Development Workshop organized with support of the USAID Collaborative Governance Program.
An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by Edward Gemayel visited Bishkek from May 21-27, 2015. The visit took as part of a regular dialogue with the authorities to assess the performance of the Kyrgyz economy, following approval on April 8 by the IMF Executive Board of a new three-year arrangement under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF).
UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights to review Kyrgyzstan
GENEVA (27 May 2015) – Kyrgyzstan’s economic, social and cultural rights record is due to be reviewed by the UN Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee on Monday 1 June and Tuesday 2 June.
The Kyrgyz parliament is scheduled to begin its first reading tomorrow of a draft law on “foreign agents” which could negatively affect the work of numerous civil society organisations working on human rights and delivering services in Kyrgyzstan.
