Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, April 26, 2022—The Kyrgyz Republic launched its National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) today, aimed at making financial services more accessible, efficient, and affordable for households and businesses across the country.
Bishkek – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in the Kyrgyz Republic welcomes the generous contribution of USD 473,000 from the Government of Switzerland to improve the well-being of people living in the targeted Social Inpatient Institutions (SII) across the country and build their resilience against health shocks.
Toktogul – A pilot greenhouse project to supplement school meals with locally-grown fresh vegetables is launched at school No. 29 named after M. Nurgaziev in Uch-Terek village of Jalal-Abad province. The programme aims to strengthen the capacity of all Kyrgyz primary schools to prepare and serve fresh and nutritious meals throughout the country.
Millions of people face the challenge of finding themselves in the labour market and being in professional demand without fear of losing their job. However, the labour market situation in the Kyrgyz Republic is ambiguous.
The French Alliance in Bishkek, jointly with the Embassies of France, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada and the EU Delegation in Kyrgyzstan, are happy to announce the holding of the 2022 edition of the Week of the Francophonie from March 23 to April 2. On 28 January, 2022, the National Forum gathered more than 100 health facility managers from all provinces of Kyrgyzstan (also online) to find solutions to existing problems in the health system for better medical care to the population of the country.
January 12, 2021 – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Development Policy Institute (DPI) launched a new project to support the development of local government services in the Kyrgyz Republic. As part of “Successful Aimak 2”, municipalities in Issyk-Kul, Jalal-Abad, Naryn and Osh oblasts will work to improve key services, such as water supply, waste removal, maintenance of public spaces such as parks, and provision of recreational activities.
