Moving from a planned to a market oriented economy has not been free of costs yet the Kyrgyz Republic has managed to restore its economic growth prospects. This, in a backdrop of i) important fluctuations in international commodity prices affecting, in particular, the price of gold; and ii) a big trade liberalisation push.
