Almaty, Kazakhstan, February 28, 2018—IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is hosting today a regional conference to promote digital financial services, including e-money, Internet and mobile banking in Central Asia. The event is part of a larger World Bank Group effort to help people and small businesses access financial services, which is key to combating poverty and driving economic growth.
The University of Central Asia (UCA) and the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga) signed a memorandum of understanding on 14 February 2018 in Riga, Latvia. The intended areas of cooperation include development of curriculum for UCA’s undergraduate programme in Economics, faculty and student exchanges as well as research cooperation.
On February 14, 2018 the Ministry of Economy invited representatives of relevant state bodies, expert community and international organizations to discuss specific measures for the optimization of services provided at the local level.

Batken Oblast –Batken State University inaugurates two new Nonprofit Management (NPM) Resource Centers at its affiliate branches - Suluktu Regional Institute and Kyzyl-Kiya Multidisciplinary Institute - on February 6 and 9, 2018 respectively. The Resource Centers will provide informational and consultative support on nonprofit management issues. The Resource Center will also serve as a platform for guest lectures, conferences and discussions on different topics.

Bishkek - On January 15, 2017 the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the support of the USAID Collaborative Governance Program, completed the upgrade of the interactive map of legal service providers at www.legalmap.gov.kg and is officially announcing its launch for general public’s use. The upgraded interactive map improved access to legal information for citizens and simplified the search for legal service providers.
