A Festival of Francophone Films will take place in Bishkek from 7 to 10 April 2026, with free daily screenings at 18:00 featuring films from Switzerland, France, Belgium, and Romania. The events will be held at the Ala Too Cinema.
The festival is part of the Spring of Francophonie 2026, a yearly festival celebrating the diversity and creativity of the French language and francophone cultures. It is jointly organized by French Alliance in Bishkek, the Embassies of France and Switzerland, the Delegation of the European Union in Kyrgyzstan, the Embassies of Belgium and Romania in Kazakhstan, and nearly 20 Kyrgyz partners. The festival is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The official opening of the Festival will be on Tuesday 7th April at 18:00 featuring the Swiss film “Bon Shuur Ticino”, presented in its original languages (French, German, and Italian) with subtitles in Kyrgyz, Russian, and English.
