About Accelerate Prosperity
Accelerate Prosperity (AP) is a part of a new initiative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Central and South Asia, which provides a formal structure to catalyze enterprises, where economic opportunities remain insufficient. Through patient capital and tailored technical assistance to startups and Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs), AP facilitates mentorship, enables promising enterprises to become finance and investment-ready, and enables access to tailored financing and business networks. As of today, AP is positioning as an investment business accelerator with a USD 3 million portfolio.
Job Responsibilities:
- Managing and oversight of the existing investment portfolio, analyzing target and portfolio companies’ financial statements, and preparing forecasts.
- Support senior team members in all phases of the investment life cycle e.g., pipeline sourcing, evaluation of prospective investments, due diligence, Investment Committee presentations, delivery of value creation plan, exit of portfolio companies, drafting deal term sheets, etc.
- Conduct and/or facilitate post investment technical assistance for selected companies.
- Develop/review comprehensive financial models and projections to support investment transactions and portfolio monitoring.
- Coordinate external due diligence and other advisers working on transactions or delivery of value creation plans for portfolio companies.
- Track the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies, assessing key performance indicators (KPIs) and milestones to ensure alignment with growth objectives.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities within the portfolio, and provide strategic recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and analysts, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to learning and growth.
- Program delivery: assist in implementation of different components of AP’s acceleration program, including: (but not limited to) company selection and interviewing, specific trainings delivery and technical assistance, mentorship.
- Monitor portfolio performance and prepare regular performance reports, assist in preparing financial and narrative reports according to the donor contact in a timely manner.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential investment opportunities, source and screen potential investment opportunities through networking, market research, and industry connections.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the AP’s investment strategy
- Assist with other urgent tasks if and when necessary.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Hard skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financing or facilitating financing to SMEs, either at financial institutions (e.g., banks, investment funds, development financial institutions, etc.) or at an investment vehicle in an analytical role (MBA, CFA, ACCA designation is an advantage).
- Experience in IT-related industries, either in investment roles or at consulting, business development, and technical roles, is a major advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, economics, information technology, or other relevant fields.
- Full professional proficiency in Kyrgyz, English, and Russian is required.
- Strong reporting and writing skills are required.
- Financial modeling and presentation skills are required.
- Excellent understanding of market trends, particularly in technology and innovation sectors.
