For the first time, 177 members of the Association of Health Managers of the Kyrgyz Republic gathered in a Congress on the 31st of May in Bishkek. They discussed new challenges in the field of management and support of health facility managers.
This important platform brings together its members to review the Association's activities, discuss current issues in the management of healthcare facilities, and develop common decisions.
The Association of Health Managers was created with the support of the Swiss project called “Strengthening the Healthcare Management System”. It has been operating since 2020 to promote a sustainable and effective management system, so as to improve the quality and availability of medical care for the population of the Kyrgyz Republic.
“The provision of high-quality and effective medical care to the population depends on the manager’s competence to respond to crisis situations in a timely manner and make the right management decisions”, noted the First Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr.Mederbek Ismailov.
Dr. Olivier Bangerter, the Swiss Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, emphasized that “Qualified and committed health managers are essential for an efficient and effective health system.”
A new Board of the Association was elected; in the next three years, its members will solve strategic challenges for institutional and financial sustainability to increase the professional level of health managers.
The goal of the Swiss project “Strengthening the Healthcare Management System” is to improve the effectiveness and quality of health services by upgrading the competencies of health managers.
