GENEVA (27 May 2015) – Kyrgyzstan’s economic, social and cultural rights record is due to be reviewed by the UN Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee on Monday 1 June and Tuesday 2 June.
Kyrgyzstan is one of the 164 States that have ratified the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), and so is required to submit regular reports to the Committee of 18 international independent experts on how it is implementing the Covenant. The Committee members will engage in a dialogue with the Kyrgyz Government delegation on a range of issues relating to the Covenant.
Date and time: 1 June from 15:00 – 18:00 (19:00 – 22:00 in Bishkek); 2 June from 10:00 – 13:00 (14:00-17:00)
Venue: Palais Wilson, Geneva.
The Committee will issue its findings on Kyrgyzstan and the other States being reviewed – Venezuela, Mongolia, Thailand, Ireland, Chile and Uganda - on 22 June and publish them at the above link.
