The Osh Mayor Office’s Website to Receive Feedback on Municipal Services from City People

Osh - On September 22, the Osh Mayor’s Office and Public Union Youth of Osh officially signed the cooperative agreement as a part of the project titled 8x13 (8 municipal services and 13 territory councils) aimed at improvement of people’s confidence in local authorities and cooperation between them. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Osh, Aitmamat Kadyrbaev, the vice-mayor, Kutmanaly Abdrakhman uulu, and representatives of other municipal bodies.
 
During the event, the executive director of PU Youth of Osh, Akmaral Satinbaeva, made a presentation of the project objectives, including: to establish an OpenData platform based on the Mayor Office’s website and introduce the interactive online map where people can evaluate the quality of available municipal services and give their feedback.

In his turn, the Mayor of Osh, Aitmamat Kadyrbaev, highlighted that this map and OpenData platform is necessary for the Mayor’s Office as air.

“This project of the Osh Mayor’s Office Osh and Public Union Youth of Osh is the first step in quality implementation of electronic management or “e-government” in executive boards of public organizations and local self-governments of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2014-2017,” said Osh Mayor Aitmamat Kadyrbaev.

Besides, the mayor also highlighted that this map would help the Mayor’s Office to provide quality municipal services and timely react on problems of the Osh city people.

Furthermore, the project includes a city-wide survey, in-depth interviews, and focus groups for assessment of community satisfaction with the quality of municipal services, as well as evaluation of the city environment and city community’s capacity for the environment change. The project activities have been focused on improvement of municipal services provided by Tazalyk company and public transport.

The project will perform comprehensive work with the community including information meetings with territory councils, community members, and neighborhood committees, a series of special TV programs, promotion videos, dissemination of leaflets and posters. As a result, all the community feedback will be presented to the public of Osh, and a number of recommendations will be prepared regarding improvement of the quality of the mentioned municipal services.

This project has been possible thanks to support provided by American people through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) as a part of the USAID Collaborative Governance Program in cooperation with the Public Union Youth of Osh.
