The inauguration event marking the completion of the renovation work at the dormitory for young doctors and medical residents has taken place on 8 October in At-Bashy district of the Naryn province of Kyrgyzstan.
This support has been provided within the framework of the Medical Education Reform project financed by the Embassy of Switzerland in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Ambassador of Switzerland to the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Ren? Holenstein, the plenipotentiary representative of the Kyrgyz Government to the Naryn province Mr.Amanbai Kaiypov, representatives of the Ministry of Health and the administration of the Naryn province, local health authorities and young doctors participated in the inaguaration event.
Within the Swiss funded project the dormitory in the remote At-Bashy district has been renovated to improve the living conditions of young doctors interning in the regions of Kyrgyzstan. The internship in regions is an effective way for young doctors to get wide access to patients and gain more practical experience which reduces the shortage of healthcare workforce in regions and increases quality of medical services provided to the population.
The Medical Education Reform project focuses on medical education and healthcare policy by providing undergraduate students with relevant and quality training and resources for continuing their education on postgraduate and continuous levels.
