The world today is increasingly dependent on information technology (IT) systems.

Central Asia is no exception.  The Governments of Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan have all signalled their dedication to investing in information and communication technologies with the aim of improving the performance of their economies. As a result, the demand for trained, highly qualified Computer Science professionals in Central Asia is outpacing the supply of candidates to fill these jobs. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science prepares students to enter the workforce as software engineers, analysts, database administrators and more.

If you are interested in technology and want to be a part of an emerging regional industry and an established worldwide network of IT professionals, the University of Central Asia’s Bachelors of Science in Computer Science can help you get there.

UCA’s Computer Science programme aims to create a new generation of knowledgeable and skilled IT entrepreneurs in Central Asia. Instruction in state of the art computer laboratories on campus and internship experience with real world IT employers will expose students to the latest technologies. Developed in partnership with world renowned universities, UCA’s Computer Science programme reflects the international standards and curriculum guidelines set by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest association of technical professionals connecting UCA’s students to more than 400,000 members in chapters worldwide.

Across industries, employers are seeking candidates with strong programming, project management, technical support and data management skills. UCA’s Computer Science graduates will be trained to meet international standards for IT professionals, allowing them to become key contributors to the region’s technology infrastructure and future.

Software development is just one of the many areas within Computer Science for which companies are seeking to hire professionals in Central Asia. In addition to mandatory programming coursework, data structures and algorithms, mathematics and software engineering, students can select from electives like Business System Analysis, Design and Implementation, Information and Communications Technology for Development, or Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, among others.

Students who complete a degree in Computer Science at the University of Central Asia (UCA) will be competitive candidates for jobs both in the private and public sectors, as well as when applying to international graduate studies programmes.
