Bishkek’s Pervomaisky District Court is the Leader in Publishing Information on www.sot.kg

According to monitoring findings, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek is the leader in publishing judicial acts and information on proceedings on the website www.sot.kg in January 2016 with a score of 79.28%.  
 
The Sverdlovsky District Court was ranked 2nd with the score of 52.35%, while the Inter-District Economic Court of Bishkek was ranked 3rd with the score of 44.39%.  In December 2015, the Sverdlovsky District Court of Bishkek led the rating.

The monitoring has been performed by the Public Foundation “Sustenance and Development of the Rule of Law” (herein referred to as Foundation) with support from the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic.  The Foundation monitors data provided by the pilot courts of Sverdlovsky, Pervomaisky, Oktyabrsky and Leninsky districts and the Inter-District Economic Court of Bishkek and seeks to improve public access to the published judicial acts and information of proceedings.  This initiative is supported by the Collaborative Governance Program funded by USAID and DFID.

The monitoring includes the collection of statistical data, obtained from court specialists, on court cases, judicial sessions and acts published on the website www.sot.kg,and the calculation of rating scores on those courts and judges that were monitored.

As for the monitoring of individual judges, those judges assigned to the Sverdlovsky and Pervomaisky District Courts were found to be the most committed to implementing the principles of transparency and public accessibility to judicial acts and court proceedings. In May 2016, based on the monitoring findings, the project initiators will recognize the courts, judges, and assistant judges with honorary certificates for their contribution in improving public access to judicial acts and information of court proceedings.

The Collaborative Governance Program (CGP) promotes effective collaboration among civil society, the private sector, and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Program is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and UK Department for International Development (DFID), and implemented by East-West Management Institute (EWMI).
