“Strengthening Justice and Benevolence in the Society” Meeting in Batken Oblast with the Kyrgyz Republic’s Deputy of JK Cholpon Sultanbekova

Batken – On June 21, 2016, Cholpon Sultanbekova, the deputy of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Jokorku Kenesh (parliament), joined Batken Oblast government officials, representatives from CSOs, students, including Madrasah girls, and local community members for a meeting on “Strengthening Justice and Benevolence in the Society.” The meeting started at 11 a.m. in the conference hall in Batken State University.
 
The Public Foundation “Information, Consulting and Demonstration Center Stimul” and the Kaziyat of Batken Oblast organized the meeting as part of the “Madrasah-Attending Young Girls as Initiators of Positive Social Changes” project. The project is supported by the Collaborative Governance Program, funded by USAID and DFID.
The aim of the meeting is to support girls from two madrasahs – “Muaz ibni Jamal” in the City of Batken and “Abdulla ibn Abbas” in Leilek Rayon (district) – and students from low-income families, as well as Leilek and Batken Rayons orphans and children of labor migrants. In addition to organizing meetings like this one, the project plans to provide training on public speaking and leadership skill, master classes and practical advice.

The project is supported by the Collaborative Governance Program (CGP), which promotes effective collaboration among civil society, the private sector, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the private sector of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Program is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID), and is implemented by East-West Management Institute (EWMI).
