On January 24, 2020, the USAID Collaborative Governance Program invites media to a conference devoted to cooperation between civil society organizations and the Government. Participants will learn about how the seven year program contributed to improving this collaboration and take part in discussions about the role of civil society in general. The conference will start at 9.30 a.m. at 191 Abdrahmanov Street, Hayat Regency Bishkek Hotel.
Parliament Vice-Speaker Aida Kasymalieva, Minister of Justice Marat Jamankulov, Minister of Labor and Social Development Ulukbek Kochkorov, international experts, donor community, and civil society leaders are expected to attend the event.
The conference program features remarks from key speakers (9:30 a.m. – 10:00a.m.) and inspiring personal stories of the people who directly benefited from the program’s work in areas like free legal aid, support to people with disabilities, domestic violence and more (10:00 to 11:00 a.m.).
A number experts and civil society leaders who partnered with the Collaborative Governance Program will be available for interviews on different issues like sexual harassment, access to free legal aid, domestic violence, guarantee funds, open government, etc.
The conference will be concluded with panel discussions about the role of civil society and ways to it can help the government be more effective.
