Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Kyrgyz Republic have now received a digital platform, which will assist them in receiving grant funding, expert advice and training necessary for the smooth running of their businesses in the adverse conditions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Almost 300 domestic small businesses joined the “Online solutions for SMEs” pilot conference, organised by the EBRD and its partners, and had an opportunity to learn about the Bank’s programmes and products like Risk Sharing Facilities, Advice for Small Businesses, Women in Business, business diagnostics solutions for SMEs and some others. Further 3000 viewers watched the conference through YouTube live stream.
Similar online discussions and presentations will now be taking place on a regular basis and will promote essential business and social distancing required by quarantine measures imposed by the authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The initiative is supported by the Swiss Government through the EBRD Small Business Impact Fund (other donors to which include: Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Sweden, Taipei China and the USA) and the European Union.
The EBRD is working with SMEs and consultants from across the country to ensure the continuous delivery of advisory projects.
