Aga Khan Foundation in Kyrgyz Republic (AKF KR) has been applying the Human Centered Design (HCD) approach since 2019. The AKF HCD design team was established in 2021 to lead the design of projects applying the HCD principles. The team is being guided by the Global Innovation Lead at AKF, closely supported by the Regional Design Lead for Local Impact, and driven by trained innovation champions from different programs including the Local Impact, Health and Nutrition, Early Childhood Development, Education, Economic Inclusion and Civil Society.
HCD is a mindset and a creative approach to problem-solving. It is a process that aims to engage those we are designing for in all stages (problem identification, analysis, and solution development) to come up with contextual, innovative, and novel solutions that are tailor-made to suit end users/beneficiary needs.
The focus of HCD: To better understand and frame the challenge/problem that needs to be solved by focusing on the underlying human needs.
Currently, Local Impact of AKF KR is seeking a Project Coordinator to work on the following Y2 HCD design challenge:
In Phase I, the telegram bot Joop Bar was developed to support youth in rural areas by improving their employment opportunities. In Phase II, the main activities will focus on transitioning the telegram bot to a mobile application and establishing partnerships with new stakeholders essential for promoting the platform.
Tasks, responsibilities & deliverables expected from the candidate, Time commitment and Remuneration
The prior objective of Project Coordinator is to lead and coordinate the software development team in the process of transitioning from a telegram bot to mobile application and promote the Joop Bar Employment platform among job seekers and employers via conducting various activities and events. The duty station will be an office based in Osh/Bishkek, with often field trips to different regions of Kyrgyzstan for weekly/monthly meetings and other travel when required.
