Logistics Assistant (Re-announcement)

Job Purpose: The Logistician role ensures the efficient management of AKF’s fleet, transportation, and logistics operations, including vehicle maintenance and staff transport. The role also involves managing the receipt, inspection, and distribution of goods, and maintaining accurate inventory records. 

The Public Foundation Kyrgyzstan Mountain Societies Development Support Programme (MSDSP KG) is an initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation, established in 2006. MSDSP aspires to improve the quality of life and self-reliance of people in the Kyrgyz Republic through inclusive and innovative community-driven solutions, constant learning, and integrity. It implements a range of integrated interventions in agriculture and food security, climate resilience, work and enterprise, education and early childhood development, health, and nutrition, as well as civil society development and promotion of gender equality in collaboration with community-based groups and local government authorities. MSDSP is active in many of the most remote and vulnerable communities in the Kyrgyz Republic, particularly in the rural and peri-urban areas, covering a total population of more than 520,000 people. Qualification requirements

Education: University degree in finance, business, supply chain, logistics or economics, or law 

Experience  

  • Prior experience as a logistics assistant;
  • Experience in an international setting with international organizations is an asset.

Skills/Competencies  

  • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, MS Outlook, and PowerPoint)  
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills 
  • The ability to use office equipment such as switchboards, fax machines, and photocopiers 
  • The ability to work in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team  
  • Effective organizational skills 

Time Management skills 

Languages: Excellent knowledge of Kyrgyz, and Russian languages. The English language is preferable 

Duties

Vendor & Supplier Communication: Process communications with vendors and suppliers to ensure the quality receipt of goods or direct delivery to project sites.

Goods Receipt & Distribution

  • Receive goods and inventories from vendors based on Good Receive Note (GRN).
  • Organize the distribution of goods to the requester using internal GRN.

Goods Inspection: Provide inspection of goods for the requester to ensure compliance with specifications.

Inventory Management

  • Support and assist the administration in the physical verification of assets for inventory.
  • Maintain and update to ensure accurate stock management.

Vendor & Service Provider Management: Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and landlords, ensuring timely invoicing and payment.

Courier Services: Order and manage payment for courier services.

Fleet & Transport Management

  • Manage the AKF fleet, including maintaining log books and overseeing vehicle maintenance.
  • Organize and manage staff transportation, ensuring safety during movements.
  • Process requests for the movement of staff and materials.

Additional Duties: Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the line manager, commensurate with the position.
