Summary of Position:

A Lawyer will be responsible for providing timely and practical legal advice, handling various drafting tasks, working closely with all UCA departments and schools across organization, following new laws and regulations relevant to UCA activities, reviewing organizational policies, assisting with legal training, performing similar duties as delegated by OLA Director. 

Main Dutes and responsibilities:

A Lawyer will be responsible to a wide range of duties and tasks across the founding states (Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan which can include:

• Drafting and preparing various legal documents, including but not limited to, brief, legal opinions, memos, and other written communications to support the University’s operations.
• Reviewing contracts, MoUs and other legal documents. 
• Draft and negotiate contracts, policies, and legal documents tailored UCA’s needs. 
• Conducting research in various legal matters.
• Working closely with various departments across the University.
• Assisting with OLA projects and trainings and internal document management.
• Performing similar duties as delegated by the Director of OLA

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

• Degree in law
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a lawyer (experience with well-known law firms is desired).
• Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of English and Russian, and one of the national languages of UCA’s operational countries.
• Ability to independently interact and communicate with the stakeholders.

• High level of professional integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment.
