The Communications Lead will drive the development and implementation of a multi-faceted communications strategy to deepen understanding of AKDN’s development approaches and programmes in the Kyrgyz Republic. The post-holder will also serve in an advisory capacity to explore ways to enhance communications across several different institutions active in different spheres ranging from education to financial services.
The AKDN is a group of private, non-denominational, development organisations active in Kyrgyzstan since 2001. AKDN programmes cover several sectors and are guided by and contribute to national development priorities. The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) Representation Office in the Kyrgyz Republic is seeking an enthusiastic, self-driven, Communications Lead to join a committed team of professionals helping advance social, economic, and cultural development in the country.
The AKDN aims to improve living conditions and opportunities for people irrespective of their origin, faith, or gender. Our multifaceted development approach aims to help communities and individuals become self-reliant.
Required Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will be fluent in Kyrgyz, English, and Russian languages. They will have at least seven years of related professional experience with a minimum of two years’ experience overseeing a communication portfolio and team. Interested individuals should have a proven track record in designing and implementing comprehensive communications strategies. They will also have strong writing and oral communication skills as well as interpersonal and networking skills to interact with individuals from different contexts and at senior levels. A strong understanding of social media platforms as well as more traditional communication approaches is critical.
Individuals for this role should possess an undergraduate degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field, from a recognised university. Candidates with a Master’s degree would be a distinct advantage.
