About Accelerate Prosperity: 

Accelerate Prosperity (AP) is a new global initiative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Central and South Asia, which provides a formal structure to catalyze enterprises where economic opportunities remain insufficient. AP's mission is to create inclusive economic growth and empowerment, with a focus on youth and women in rural areas, by catalyzing sustainable Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs), and by promoting entrepreneurship. Through patient capital and tailored technical assistance and business advisory to startups and existing businesses, AP inspires entrepreneurship by offering lean startup incubation, preparing promising enterprises for investment, facilitating mentorship, and enabling access to angel and investment financing.

Job Description:

Acceleration Coordinator provides strategic business analysis services to management. She/he will oversee day-to-day operations and implementing the project’s activities and will ensure that the implementation of the program itself is on time, within the budget, and to maximum effect. This includes taking part in designing programs, proper coordination of multiple cohorts simultaneously in different target regions, coordination and leading of junior staff. Acceleration Coordinator also builds a mentorship program and an alumni network, partnerships with other accelerators, and brings best practices to AP acceleration programs. Reporting and supporting the M&E and investment team. Acceleration Coordinator also supports management in resource mobilization via proposal writing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take part in designing programs, both incubation and acceleration, for both SMEs and tech startups;
  • Support the acceleration program selection process, expertise structuring, content, and curriculum development around target sets for each acceleration cohort;
  • Prepare analysis around targets and indicators compliance;
  • Review assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks as well as identify opportunities to improve efficiency;
  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices;
  • Manage relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up-to-date on the acceleration program;
  • Stay current with entrepreneur needs and strategies, utilize formal and informal written communication methods (for example, emails, newsletters, PowerPoint and other format presentations, executive updates, task lists, updates) to communicate updates and findings; and facilitate project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences (for example, senior management, partners, technical staff and other);
  • Lead or participate in multiple cohorts by completing and updating project documentation; managing project scope, adjusting schedules when necessary, determining daily priorities, and ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of acceleration tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths;
  • Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level, focusing on quality improvement and data management and ensuring data is reliable and valid, develop process improvements or re-engineering and recommending elimination, integrate new systems and processes with existing ones, and partner with internal and external customers to ensure systems provided meet the long-term business strategies;
  • Coordinate ToRs, selection, and cooperation around the  mentorship program;
  • Provide content material to the Communication specialist, Technical expert, and Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation specialist for updating the websites, as well as for quarterly program updates, newsletters, and success stories.
  • Create a system for monitoring of accelerated SGBs and tech startups, and collect AP data analytics.
  • Maintain Alumni Club and maintain the network, share opportunities for future investor relations and market linkages;
  • Organize efficient communication channels with alumni.
  • Provide project-level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, plans;
  • Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions, and resolving conflicts;
  • Develop quarterly narrative, annual, and final reports on acceleration activities;
  • Support on proposal writing for resource mobilization for accelerations and AP;
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, monitoring progress and results, recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities;
  • Track and control budget spending and planning, BVAs;
  • Coordinate the work of junior acceleration staff, capacity building.
  • Lead on procurement procedures and documentation, timely submission to the Finance team, and instructing junior staff on contracting selected entities; 

Required Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a relevant major is required.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in corporate/startup business development, venture capital, marketing/sales, accelerators/incubators, or startup operations;
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in project management, program and product development, startup operations, or other relevant experience; 
  • Strong project management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point;
  • Must have experience working on large-scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests;
  • Strong communication skills and building networks and partnerships with entrepreneurs and partners;
  • Strong presentation skills: ability to speak confidently in settings ranging from large group events to meetings with senior government, industry, and startup leaders;
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong personal presence, leadership skills, verbal and written communication skills, proactiveness, and training skills;
  • Oral and written fluency in Russian, Kyrgyz, and English;
  • Good understanding of the SME / startup ecosystem is an asset.
