Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, June 24, 2025—To increase access to green and social financing in the Kyrgyz Republic, IFC has announced a subscription of up to $15 million in the country’s first-ever sustainability bond, issued in local currency by the Kyrgyz Investment and Credit Bank (KICB).
With support from the Swiss Government, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) have successfully piloted the INFORM model, a localized disaster risk assessment tool. Designed to improve disaster preparedness, response, and risk reduction, this initiative strengthens national systems and enhances strategic planning for future emergencies.
