Big step by National Bank of Kazakhstan to boost EBRD financing in tenge

EBRD and NBK agree to sign two facilities for tenge equivalent of US$ 1 billion. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NBRK) have agreed on the steps that will significantly enhance the EBRD’s  local currency financing capability.

UCA Awards 14 Fellowships for Research on Mountain Societies

The University of Central Asia’s Mountain Societies Research Institute (MSRI) awarded over $160,000 in grants to 14 accomplished fellows from Afghanistan, Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic. Awarded in April 2014, the grants will support two-year research projects related to the development of mountain societies.
