EBRD and EU support energy and water efficiency in the Kyrgyz Republic

KyrSEFF II to boost resource efficiency for businesses and residential sector. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is launching a new US$ 35 million credit line to boost energy savings and resource efficiency in the Kyrgyz Republic. The investment is an expansion of the Kyrgyz Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (KyrSEFF) and is complemented by more than €9.2 million in donor funding provided by the European Union’s (EU) Investment Facility for Central Asia.

561 Graduate at UCA School of Professional and Continuing Education’s Second Graduation in Afghanistan

The University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (UCA SPCE) celebrated the graduation of 561 learners across its six Satellite Learning Centres (SLC) in Afghanistan in October 2016. These centres are in Darwaz, Ishkashim, Shugnan and Faizabad, as well as Aga Khan Education Service Centres in Ishkashim and Zebak.

EBRD forecast: growth slowly picking up despite continuing global turmoil

EBRD gender equality award presented to Kaliman Kobshekova, director of the Issyk-Kul Regional Centre for Development and Education

On October 24, 2016, Managing Director for Central Asia and Turkey of the European bank for reconstruction and development, Natalia Khanjenkova presented the EBRD’s Award for Promotion of Gender Equality to Kaliman Kobshekova, director for the Issyk-Kul Regional Centre for Development and Education at a reception in Bishkek dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Bank.

EBRD funds residential energy efficiency in Kyrgyz Republic with FMCC

US$ 1 million worth of micro-loans in local currency to be channelled to households by First MicroCredit Company. The EBRD is committing new local currency loans worth US$ 1 million in the Kyrgyz Republic to support improvements in energy and water efficiency in the south of the country.

80 municipalities of Issyk-Kul and Jalal-Abad provinces to be awarded by the Embassy of Switzerland in the Kyrgyz Republic

The Embassy of Switzerland in the Kyrgyz Republic will award certificates to 37 municipalities of Issyk-Kul and 43 municipalities of Jalalabad provinces which have successfully managed grants and investments in projects funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

EBRD and EU support electricity upgrades in Osh, Kyrgyz Republic
