Public Organizations Intend to Amend Legislation to Protect Young People Leaving Institutional Care (Care Leavers)
Bishkek.The Public Charity Foundation Oasis, in cooperation with the Public Union Our Voice, plan to work with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to amend the legislation and to promote the effective implementation of laws to improve the situation of young people leaving residential care. This initiative is supported by the Collaborative Government Program funded by the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom.

Civil Society Conducting a Survey of Judges on www.sot.kg
The Public Foundation “Sustenance and Development of the Rule of Law”, with support from the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, has been conducting a survey of judges of Bishkek and Osh on the website www.sot.kg where judicial acts and other information are to be published. The survey will help identifying the level of their awareness as well as barriers to implementing the objective of ensuring access to information.

Statement at the Conclusion of an IMF Staff Visit to the Kyrgyz Republic
An IMF mission led by Mr. Edward Gemayel visited Bishkek during January 29 to February 4, 2016 to discuss recent economic developments, government policies and economic prospects in the context of a challenging regional environment. Osh Citizens Can Report City Problems to Authorities through the Map on a Website
The Osh City Mayor Office, in partnership with the Public Union Youth of Osh, presented the Online Map for Citizen Reporting (http://map.oshcity.kg/). The map will enable citizens to inform the Mayor Office on their needs in specific municipal needs, gaps, and other issues of the city. All reports are registered and indicated on the map so that everyone can see what problems exist in the city and how they are addressed.
Government, Civil Society, Business Working Together to Address Corruption Risks
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan – The Anticorruption Business Council of the Kyrgyz Republic will begin a review of laws that may impact effective protection of property rights of businesses and citizens. The primary goal of the initiative is to reduce the risk of corruption within judicial, fiscal, and law enforcement bodies that affect citizens and business. The project is being implemented with the support of the United States through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID).
